Intro

It all started about 25 years ago around the age of 7. I remember listening to vinyl on a pair of headphones through my father's Fisher integrated. A little later on I acquired a SoundDesign rack system which lasted though Junior High. Then for my 16th birthday, I received my first piece of mid-fi, a Kenwood integrated amp, Kenwood CD player, and some crummy Kenwood speakers. Shortly after, the speakers were replaced with a pair of Yamaha 12" monitors, CDP replaced with a Yamaha "Natural Sound" unit and all cables were upgraded to Radio Shack's "gold cables".

I then took a 10 year hiatus from audio while going to college and hot rodding cars. School consisted of basic electronics, computer, networking, and every psychology class that was offered. The basics I needed to understand this hobby and turn it into an obsession again.

I slowly progressed back into the hobby about 4 years ago. I wanted to put together a nice HT and gaming system for my new home, which slowly started to focus around 2 channel music.
